Mission Statement
Our mission is to awaken humanity from the illusion of separation, through a collective practice in direct observation of sensate experiences, reviving and renewing the classic technology of inquiry questions (KoAN), in forms that are accessible to people of all countries, races, and ages.
“Know Thyself”
The term KoAN in our project name stands for Knowledge of A Nobody, the name having also been taken from the Zen Buddhist term 公案 (Koan / Kung-an / Kong-an).
Koan literally means “public case,” and it refers to the truth that is owned by no one particular, at the same time being shared by everyone.
We encourage people in search for true self-knowledge (or self-realization, enlightenment, awakening, liberation, etc., as some traditions call it) to observe, inquire into, and directly see the truth that is already here and now, which has always been that way.
The Three Protocols
1. LOOK - Direct Observation
A simple, direct and no-nonsense way of observing the sensate experiences and seeing the truth about them.
2. KoAN - Inquiry Questions
Boost your observation with inspiring questions that keep you focused on the task of being present-minded.
3. SEE … through the Illusion
See through the illusion of there being a separate, permanent subject experiencing things. Enjoy the fruit of your continuous practice.
FAQs

It is about making true self-knowledge more accessible to people in need of it. By having clear insights that result from the practice of our protocols, doubts and ignorance about one’s identity is cleared away, leading to an unshakable knowing of where we come from, who we are, and where we go after the body perishes.
-
Yes and no. Although our protocols are designed to be devoid of any relation with a particular culture, religion and “ism”s, they at the same time have a lot in common with the practices within such religious traditions as Theravadan Buddhism, Zen, Dzogchen, Advaita Vedanta, Christian Mysticism, and many more. They are also influenced by the thoughts of great thinkers like J. Krishnamurti and Dr. David Bohm.
