Modern KoAN Project

- Observe, Inquire and See

  • Quiet Sitting (Zazen)

⚪︎ Every Day 9:00-9:20 PM (JST)

Log in to Zoom and sit together; make yourself room for a quiet inquiry time that enhances the effectiveness of your direct observation practice. Free entry and exit, no need for a particular sitting posture.

Short dialogue (9:20 - 9:30) or dokusan (consultation in advance needed) after sitting is also available.

  • Zen Group Dialogue

    ⚪︎ Sun. 2:00-3:00 PM (JST)

Share questions or stories with your fellow self-inquirers online, and see them in the context of Zen Koans. No specific theme set; everyone can join to talk about something that comes out spontaneously, as well as discuss topics related on self realization, meditation, or other relevant practices. Also, those feeling lost at the post-awakening period are more than welcome!

If requested, we could discuss issues regarding Zen, or have a spontaneous group inquiry session based on Zen Koans.

  • Private Session / Dokusan

    ⚪︎ Appointed time

Have private Zoom self inquiry sessions in a relaxed atmosphere. Participants are guided by an experienced facilitator who received inka (completion of Koan studies) certifications from masters of both Soto and Rinzai tradition.

If you’d like to have dokusan in a traditional Zen style, based on the Koan system of Rinzai tradition, please contact the webmaster by sending a message at "Contact" page of this website.
